I decided I wanted to go to the beach so we all got in the car and drove up to Half Moon Bay.
on the way, we found this locomotive restaurant and decided we had to stop and eat.
they were so nice and even sounded the whistle for Nathaniel.
I took the chance to snap photos.

then it was time for the beach.
the boys and I took our shoes off and dipped our toes in the ocean. It was super-cold but also a ton of fun.
it was an unusually warm day and had we been in beach-gear, we could have actually spent the day there and played in the sand but since it’s usually cold and windy at the beaches up here, I thought it would be that way so we overdressed. Next time, we’ll spend a more beach-y day. I love love love being near the ocean.
then it was family photo time.

I’m relieved to see I’m not the only one having a challenge with getting my 7 soon to be 8 year old to smile. At best, I get a really contrived smile…at worst…well the sky’s the limit. Glad you managed to get some lovely shots anyway.
