If you’d asked me years ago, I’d have said Nothing
Gold Can Stay or later, I would have said, Stop all
the Clocks or i
carry you in my heart or One Art. But
the first poem that jumped to my mind was:



This is Just to Say by William Carlos Williams
I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

I love this poem. I love every bit of it. I can’t even explain why.
Maybe cause it’s so ordinary. Cause it’s so relateable. So daily life. I
am not sure but it makes me happy each and every time.
