Continuing on the thread of using what I have on hand, I had one pad of Bienfang paper canvas. It’s heavy paper with the surface texture of canvas. I don’t like this surface very much, maybe cause it’s already prepped or who knows. But I wanted to try it and see and I also had it on hand so I am using it up!
So here’s the first set:
The full text reads: Gratitude is a practice, make it a priority.
I wanted to make the hands look like they were giving something or thanking the heavens. This page uses pan pastels and distress inks i think.
And here’s the next page:
The full text reads: Do not let anything cage you in.
I used acrylics on this page. I have been feeling uninspired and out of ideas but I am creating anyway to see what happens
And here’s the next page:
I posted this one a few weeks ago for Julie’s stencil hop, too.
The full text reads: Seek Joy and Happiness.
I still feel uninspired but I am continuing to create so I used acrylics on this one.
And here’s the next page:
The full text reads: It takes courage to be who you are.
I had no idea what to do with this page so I just used some of the Sassafrass embellies i had and just had fun. I also used acrylics.
Well here we go. That’s the four for this week. More coming next week.
Absolutely inspiring! Looking forward to viewing your work in 2012! You make me want to start sketching!
I hope you do!! It’s so much fun to sketch and do art!!
If you are doing this when you are not inspired I can’t wait to see what you do when you have inspiration. I love them!!
Thanks for you inspiration this year. Wanted to wish you and your family a good 2012!!
Hope to see more of your lovely work then!!
Did you draw all of these from scratch? That’s just amazing! What do you use for the stamped letters?
oh no! most are stencils. I draw a few but not most 🙂 thank you for the kind words!! the stamps are: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ID1EMC/ref=wms_ohs_product 🙂 🙂
Karen,
I have really enjoyed your recent posts on your art journals. This was never something that I thought I was “artsy” enough for, but I am really inspired by your work and I just may get off the fence! It seems a lovely way to display the many, many quotes I have collected over the years. Just wanted to let you know that even though you may be feeling uninspired, you are certainly inspiring others!
P.S. I too am wondering about the lettering stamps?
thank you so much for the kind words. The stamps are: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ID1EMC/ref=wms_ohs_product 🙂 🙂
Karen, these are beautiful. The second one is my favorite I think, the colors and the sentiment and bird are super!! I agree with the others these are pretty dang awesome for not being inspired. Thank you for sharing that even you have your off days and still encourage yourself and us to keep painting.
They don’t look uninspired to me!! Beautiful!
These are wonderful! I also believe in keeping going when uninspired – working through it breaks the barrier…I love the Sass one – you are going to do awesomely with the collaging next year!!
