Art Journaling – Strathmore – You Are not Alone

Here’s the next page:

Here are some details from the page:

I didn’t keep track of what I used for this page and I can’t remember now, I am sorry! I do know it was pan pastels and Crafter’s Workshop stencil (for the bird) and some white pen. If you have questions about anything specific, just leave me a comment and I promise I will respond.

I am creating multiple art journaling pages a week for July and August (and maybe longer). You can read more about it and the book I am using for these pages at the top of this blog post.

I commented last week asking about what you are going to do with your art journaling. I think you should somehow display some of your favorites where you can see them often. I know I would. If you are going to rebind some of them, you could cut strips of watercolor paper and sew them on an edge so you could then bind them using that paper strip and not cover up your work. You’ll have to post what you end up doing! Thanks for your daily inspiration, Karen!

that’s pretty much what i did!! add/sew strips and bind!! you rock! thank you for the idea. I have a full video on it when all the pages are done 🙂

  • These are lovely – great color!

    Love the white pen accents.

  • I found you through “BigPictureClasses” and just watched your video on your “word”. I love it and think your art journal pages are beautiful. I really liked the reason why you used the butterfly to. Just thought I would pop in and say thank you for sharing your word and the why behind it :). Have a great week.

  • Like Yvette, I “found you” via Big Idea Festival. I became an instant fan and subscribed to you blog. I am thoroughly enjoying your art journalling pages. They are SO inspiring. I’d loved your word and video as well. I think it resonated with me much, much more than any of the others. I felt like I could have said some of the same things you did. Thank you so much for opening yourself up to us and be so authentic.

I do have one question for you – where did you get your white pen? Is is just a gel pen or something else? I’d love to find one. Thanks!

  • All the white details rock the page and add so much extra charm to the drawing… I like to do this, too. And the sentiment is so nice…
