Since I wrote my thoughts about Soul Restoration 1, I wanted to make sure to tell you a bit about the second class as well.
Here’s bits of the outline Melody gives in the page about the class:
week 1:Defining Your Unique Self: this week is a lot of journaling, figuring out who you are. I don’t mind journaling at all so I enjoyed this exercise a lot. You can also work on the cover of your journal this week. So here’s mine:
all The Girls’ Paperie products. I talk about it more in the movie below.
week2 is mostly about how these pages end up as tabs in your journal. Here’s a look at mine:
week 2 is also about your mission statement. here’s one of my mission statement pages:
week 3 is setting goals and the vision board. here’s my vision board:
week 4 is minefields: real and imagined obstacles and fears, things that stop you from getting your goals achieved. I don’t have a photo of my art journal but I show it in the video.
week 5 is about rules and how you make decisions in your life. This is a fantastic tool. I talk about it a bit in the video, too. All about how you decide what to do and what not to do. how you use your time and energy. Which is, of course all that matters.
And week 6 is about creating small and bigger tasks to do to achieve your goals/live the life you want so that you can take actionable steps towards them all the time.
This class is an ongoing process. It will take much more than six weeks to complete. But I think it’s worth the effort and I found the class to be extremely valuable.
And finally, I made a little movie to show you my book and tell you a bit more about the class. Please bear in mind, these are my thoughts and opinions. As always, your mileage may vary.
Feel free to ask any questions in the comments and I will do my best to reply. As I work on this more throughout the year, I might come and tell you more, too.
Congratulations on committing to the work that goes into these classes. Looking that deeply into me, my soul, is something that makes me want to run in the other direction. It is not an easy thing, but I am certain it can be fun. I applaud you and others who are experiencing these classes.
I don’t know about fun but it’s certainly a growing experience and one that i do believe is helping me heal, most of the time. it’s hard but worthwhile. in my opinion of course. but i totally understand the “run in the other direction” urge as well. i am doing that in some other areas of my life right now.
very cool book! I did that class too, and the book becomes a treasure! It’s so empowering and a wonder to hold! Thanks for sharing yours.
Thanks for sharing, I have wanted to do both classes but fear I won’t have the time to get it done between work and family committments. Your video definelty sparked my interest and desire to make the time. I have so much chatter in my head about things I want to change and do in my life, but just don’t make the time to sit down in a quite place to write it all down. I so struggle with the day to day balance of work, family and create time. I don’t know how you do it with little ones and still maintain a structured blog schedule. Do you ever sleep? LOL!
i sleep at lot actually! I just let a lot of other stuff fall on the floor (like cooking and cleaning) π
thank you for sharing this… I’m taking SR1, but I’ve been stuck at the start… but I’m just going to play with pain today, and see where that takes me.
i assume you meant paint. π did it go well?
Thanks for sharing your SR2 work. It’s inspiring to see someone who has worked through all of the weeks. I started then had to stop as work has been too busy but I hope to pick it up again next week and get going on it again.
I still plan on finishing mine too! keep going. i think these classes really work!
Thanks so much for your review of the class & the video overview of your book. I’ve been interested in both these classes since you discussed the first one & this made me more interested.
let me know if you do take them, i’d love to hear your thoughts π
The book looks great and it sounds really interesting. I will take a look at Melodys site…
