Art Journaling – Moleskine Sketch – Week 6

Here are some more journal pages.

I wanted this one to be super dark to symbolize dark/night etc. It’s actually much darker in person and it’s hard to show all the various texture it has. It mostly uses the shiva paintstiks and then some acrylics and stamps on top. It says “look for the light.”

Here’s a little closeup:

The next one uses the Pink Paislee tissue paper and Crafter’s Workshop templates and pan pastels. Says “If you want to receive you must first give.”

This one has all my happy colors. It uses pan pastels, chalk ink, and butterflies I cut off from a Little Yellow Bicycle paper. It says “It’s ok to fly away from the flock.”

This might be my all-time favorite page. I love the color and the sentiment and it all came to me while I was lying in bed and I am glad I remembered it in the morning. It says “We are all connected through love.” It uses the watercolor pencils.

And finally the last page went through multiple iterations. It uses Shiva paintstiks and some templates. It says “fill your home with joy, peace and laughter.” It was first like this:

Then I added a lot of stamps and rubons for some extra layering:

And finally it bothered me that the circles were even numbers so I made the left page 7 and the right one 5.

And that’s the five for this week. More coming next week. Thank you for letting me share.

I am creating art journaling pages daily for June (and maybe longer). You can read more about it and the book I am using here.

These are all so pretty and thoughtful. This time I like them in the order they are, yippee much easier that way. The first one is a favorite though because blue is my fave color and it’s so deep and dark, it’s gorgeous. Love how different these are from each other too. The earth/house one is so sweet. Seriously you rock on these pages. Thanks so much for sharing these.

I am so loving your art journal!! You are awesome at it!!

  • My favorite it “It’s ok to fly away from the flock”. I live with the sentiment every day, and there’s something very comforting about that warm orange glow. Thanks so much for sharing these!

  • […] this is a picture David made a while back (he was inspired by my art journal page). David’s Book of Good Memories is a bi-weekly project for 2012 with my seven-year-old son […]
