You’ve sucked you thumb from a very young age but this blanket obsession is all new. You started taking this one blanket everywhere you go. You sleep with it and go in the car with it. David never had these comforts so I wasn’t sure how to handle it. The more I watched you, the more I realized how much comfort and sense of safety it gives you. So I decided to support you fully. I love you my son and I love the blanket, too.

Hi Karen, I love that you noted that you have grown to love the blanket too! My kids never had security blankets, but Carmen has always been one to like having her stuff with her, and Blankie tops the list. She was getting away from it, but in times of stress, she still wants it with her. It’s battered and shows how well loved it is. All of her grown ups have been as obsessed with the care and safety of it as she is for quite some time, we all know it would devastate her if it came up missing! When she was Nathaniel’s age, it was a stealth operation to get it away from her to wash it! And I love Blankie too, just because it gives her such a special sense of comfort and security. So hurray for blankets everywhere! We should all have something so simple by our sides to comfort us!
