Art Journaling Month – You are Ok

Here’s yesterday’s page.

Inspired by the free class I mentioned. It’s still on the side of my blog if you want to find it. I hate this page. I cannot stand to look at how terrible I think it turned out. The paper started coming apart and I hated it more and more and more. But here we are. There’s a lot of journaling about how stressed and tired I’ve felt and how worried I always am about getting things done, being good enough, being enough.

This page mostly uses water soluble crayons. some graphite pen and some white acrylics. That’s it.

Karen, this is a stunningly beautiful page. You are much too hard on yourself. All artists are though. Dare to ell me you still think it’s awful after you put it aside for at least a day then look at it again.

I am looking for my carved pumpkin photos – must get out my mybook and dig through some older photos as I don’t seem to have any handy. That’s a great mouth you carved today!

trust me, i still don’t like it. all i see are the millions of flaws. terrible shading wherever there ever is any. i will keep trying but i am close to giving up on these faces.

i would love to see your pumpkins, please do dig them up if u can!! that is 3 skulls he hee. 🙂

  • Karen, your portrait turned out AMAZING! I have no idea what you are talking about. You are too hard on yourself!!!! I love how vibrant she is. I know you came into it with from a place of worry and stress and clearly you succeeded with this portrait because she looks calm, fulfilled and relaxed. I do not see worry or stress, at all. I’m jealous of you and Debi. I only had acrylics to play with and so my colors are all muted. I love the vibrance of your page.
