I seem to have liked this much less than most of the people. I thought it was good, just didn’t think it was great. Also didn’t love the ending. But others loved it more so i am the outlier on this one.
Sketching: it was pretty late and dark as I drew this one last night (the days are getting shorter ?) so it doesn’t have a lot of detail but I didn’t want to skip sketching two days in a row.
Lettering: just had a little fun with this one. It says “holding on is believing that there’s only a past. Letting go is knowing that there’s a future.” I loved the sentiment and I wanted balloons to represent letting go. Even though it looks like markers the balloons are painted with watercolor. I’m so grateful to @willa.wanders for her #loveyourimperfectletters class that really inspired me to practice lettering daily. I cannot recommend it enough.
Watercoloring: (gouaching really) a few weeks ago I bought a set of 6 @beampaints gouache set that came with some wonderful black paper that I kept seeing in my Instagram ads and I fell in love with them instantly. Last night, I challenged myself to paint a scene using only those paints. I only added the free deeper yellow they added as a present (!) and white/black. I love how pastel they are and I love the depth of the color. Doesn’t it look magical?
Listening: a lot of people loved this book. I thought it was good but I didn’t love it as much as everyone seems to have. If you’re looking for a solid thriller I think you will like “None of this is true”
Lettering: I saw this quote on @lizelayne post yesterday and loved it and decided it was a good fit for a tough day where I didn’t feel up to doing anything.
Watercoloring: I really wasn’t feeling it last night when it was time to do art. I was tired and not interested but I am trying to show up anyway so I made something and I’m grateful even if it’s not my favorite.
