Lettering: another beautiful snippet from another beautiful @lizelayne email for her #sidebyside2023 class. She alternates between stories and inspiring links and both are equally tender and inspiring and joyful for me. I wake up every morning and lie in bed as I read her beautiful words and start my day with her grace and the space she creates. I’m grateful for it every morning. I’ve taken several of her five things and tell it classes so I’ve spent a lot of my year waking up to Liz’s words and it’s been a gift.
Lettering: here’s a quote from another #sidebyside class from @lizelayne I love waking up to her emails. Don’t love the way this turned out but some days go like that and it’s about the practice of showing up no matter what.
Listened to: The Connelys of county Down by @tracey_lange I loved her previous novel and couldn’t wait to read this one and I listened to it in one breath. I loved every member of that family. I loved the story. I loved the writing.
Read: The second chance year by @melissawiesnerauthor I love second chance stories and I love reliving and time travel too so this one was meant for me and it did not disappoint. I woke up this morning and I was at only 2% and read it all the way through before getting out of bed. I loved the characters and I loved the romance.
Reading: I haven’t posted books in a while but I have been reading. Radiant Rebellion by @heychookooloonks coming in a few months is around reclaiming aging. I am not a worrier over aging so I wasn’t sure I should request this book but I have read books by and taken classes from Karen before and I knew there would be wisdom here I’d appreciate. And I was right.
This book is full of stories, wisdom, insight, and practical steps you can take. But what I appreciate the most is how much Karen encourages you to go within and to be intentional with your life. She had great journaling questions to help the reader do her own exploration.
Lettering: I pulled out the granulated watercolors for this one and just had fun. It’s not the way I had in my head but in honor of the quote itself, I decided not to aim for perfection.
