Journaling Reads:
A few weeks ago we went on a vacation to Santa Cruz. The two of you immediately started playing together. David read books to Nathaniel. Nathaniel gave hugs to David, You both played with silly putty and you laughed and laughed together. Seeing the two of you like that was another proof that having two kids was a great decision. We love watching the way you two play together and love each other.
This layout was for the Pink Paislee blog from June.
This layout was my second May blog post for Pink Paislee.
The theme was to tell a story. Which, for me, just means make a scrapbook page since I always tell a story 🙂
The journaling Reads:
David, I know I take too many photos of you and that sometimes I drive you crazy and you just don’t want to smile at the camera any more. But what I love so much is that you can’t help yourself. A few seconds and you break into a smile and then laugh like crazy. I love you my son.

Yes, long title. Can’t help myself. This layout was my first May blog post for Pink Paislee.
It was based on this awesome PageMaps sketch:
The journaling Reads:
My sweet Nathaniel you watch your brother like he’s the bee’s knees. You liked to do whatever he’s doing and if you can’t play with him, then you take all your toys and sit next to him just so you can be near him. I love how cute you are and how much he loves it too.

This second Pink Paislee project was an inspiration piece, too.
It was inspired by this amazing cake:

White, teal, pink and red might be my favorite color combination of all time.
The journaling Reads:
My sweet boy, as your mom, I make daily decisions that shape your future. What school you get to go to, which friends you can play with, what activities are best, etc. And while I always do my very best to think it through I also worry every day that my decisions are the best ones for you I hope and pray that I am opening and closing the right doors. One thing I know, I am doing my very best to do right by your every step of the way.

One of my Pink Paislee projects for this month was to lift a member from the Live Pink gallery. Here’s my layout:
and here’s the amazing layout I lifted by Diana Brodeur
I am a huge white-space fan and the softness of this layout really spoke to me. I loved that it was asymmetrical and I also loved the little layered elements. So when creating my layout, I replaced her circle with a heart (I am too scared to mist, so I didn’t even try that even though I absolutely love the misting she did on her layout.) I then layered my ephemera.
While the layout has several elements I use on most of my pages (I stitched a border and around the heart and I put an edgie on the right top corner) I think the look and feel of it is definitely similar to Diane’s stunning original.
Journaling Reads:
My sweet son when you were born I fell so deeply in love with you that I did no think there was any way I could love you any more. But I was wrong . As you grow more and more each day, my love for you grows too. I am so proud of you and so thankful that you’re my boy. I love you more and more every day.

I signed up for Christy Tomlinson’s She Art Workshop a few weeks ago and I cannot tell you how much I love the class. I love watching Christy create these beautiful canvases and make it look so easy and so meaningful.
So today I wanted to share with you a few of the She Art pieces I made. All are inspired by Christy. The first one was in my art journal and you saw it last week:
and then I made one in my art journal just for fun:
and finally, here’s the one I made for the Pink Paislee blog:
All three of these pieces use a combination of Pink Paislee papers, paint, sequin waste, rubons, and stamps.
There’s something magical about combining scrapbooking paper, rubons, paint and stamps that just makes it so much fun to work. Mixing all my words together. Truly mixed media. I’ve really really enjoyed Christy’s class and have actually completed one more piece inspired by her. It’s not a girl but it’s almost a direct lift of a piece of art by Christy and I will show it in soon since it’s in my daily journal.
Thank you, Christy, for this beautiful class. I’ve enjoyed every moment of it.
Weekly Art Journal is a weekly project for 2011. You can read more about it here.
I did this layout for Pink Paislee blog for today. My focus was tools. I, of course, used punches. Edge ones, deep edge ones, and shaped ones. I also used copic markers to color both “love” and “read” in my title.
I can never scrap enough about my kids reading.
Journaling Reads:
Reading has always been my favorite thing to do. Other hobbies might come and go but I never stopped loving to read in all these years. So one of my favorite things to do is to pass this love on to the two of you. I just taught David to read this past summer and he’s already at level two. Just watching him read makes Nathaniel interested, too. And seeing your love for books makes me deeply happy. It is, by far, one of the greatest gifts I can ever give to you. So I will make every effort to support your growing interest in books. I love you.
This layout was for the hot hues challenge on the Pink Paislee blog.
Journaling Reads:
I’ve been trying to get in the picture more so I bought this remote and each time I try to use it with you, you always want to grab it out of my hands. When I try to get it back or keep it from you, you cry. You make these dramatic faces and will not stop until I give the remote to you. I should know by now hat you won’t relent. You always get your way my boy but I still love you so much.
Almost everything is from the new Daily Junque line.

This is another Pink Paislee layout I made for CHA. It uses the Butterfly Garden line.
Journaling Reads:
My wonderful sister, I cannot believe how long it took for all of us to get back together again. I am so thankful that I took this trip to NYC so I could finally see your amazing family again. Those two days were some of the best in my life. Next time we will do it much much sooner.
This is one of the Pink Paislee layouts I made for CHA. Everything on it is from the Hometown Summer collection.
Journaling Reads:
Little boy, you have such an awesome sense of humor. You imitate your brother often and do anything he thinks is funny. You will do it over and over just to make us all laugh. And you will laugh along with us. Thank you so much.

This is my first official design team layout for Pink Paislee.
Journaling Reads:
My sweet little boy, you are sixteen months old and cannot yet talk but you do know several signs and one of them is the sign for thank you. Not only do you know the sign but you also know when to use it. When David does something nice for you or gives you a toy, you make sure to sign it so that he knows you’re thankful. EAch time you do it, it reminds me that though you can’t talk, you understand so very much.
All products are from Pink Paislee Sweetness line.
You can see more details and a few technique highlights on my blog post.
