This was your first year at your new school. I will admit I was quite nervous and didn’ know what to expect. Especially when we got a note thay your teacher was sick and you’d have a sub. The first few weeks we had no idea what would happen. As it turned out you got to have this teacher all year and she was the awesomest teacher ever. Thanks to her, we had the very best introduction to your school. Thank you Mrs. Richardson!

There’s something magical about seeing the people you love, love each other

This is a layout I made for Maya Road for CHA.

I love the two of you more than anyone can love anyone else. And when you grow up you’ll see that there’s something wonderful about having people you love, love each other and hug each other. I cannot tell you the joy it brings me when I see you two hug and and kiss and show each other affection. I hope hope hope that it continues forever. And I will not take any of these moments for granted. I love you so much!

Make a point to always cheer for yourself

I was watching you play with the batman toy. How you pick a type, you think and then you choose your answer. ANd when you get it right you do al ittle dance and cheer yourself on. I love that you take the time to congratulate yourself for a job well done! Make sure to always always take time to do that in your life. You’re a great example to all of us. I love you Nathaniel!!

I am so sad to see the beginning of the end of baby teeth

I remember being excited when you lost your first baby tooth. But in the last few weeks, you’ve lost four more and it’s clear now that the last signs of your baby years are almost all gone. I know time passes and part of me can’t wait to see the person you’ll become but another part of me wants to stop time so you can stay my baby forever. I love you so much David.

I really love watching all the joy you get from a hat

Your class went to the fire station and you were too scared to go in the truck but you did get a little hat and it has become your very favorite thing. So much so that it’s duct taped all over now because you will not take it off and it’s falling apart. I love how such a simple toy can bring so much joy. A lesson we can all learn. Thank you, my son for making my life so much better.

you like to be brave but just a little bit

My little boy you are always so very cute and you try to imitate your brother all the time and be a big brave boy like he is. So when you saw him walk on the sidewalk ledge, you had to, too. You did great until you hit a crack and then you refused to move, you were all scared. So I held your hand and walked you over the ledge. and told you that the cracks are not scary. But i have to admit I felt relieved that you are as cautious as you are adventurous. I like my boys to be brave but not too brave. Here’s to hoping you always stay a little cautious. I love you so very much my little boy. You rock.

Reminder to self

My word this year is savor. I can’t think of a better way to savor what I have then to remember these two things: laugh and breathe. They remind me to slow down and appreciate what I have and take pause to really look at it. Each time I forget, I take a look at the bracelets and remember my goal. To be aware of how lucky I am and to remember to practice gratitude And savor every bit of it.
