I Feel so Lucky that you Two Love and Adore Each Other

A few weeks ago Margie emailed me and asked me if I could do a few samples with one of her kits that were scheduled to sell on the Home Shopping Network (HSN). The kit had the Girls’ Paperie Paper Girl papers, ribbons, stamps, and die cuts. No alphabets! Can you imagine me doing a layout without alphabets? Well, I went off and bought the letter punch from MS and decided to step up to the challenge. I will post the 4 layouts I made in two days, over the next few weeks.

Journaling Reads:
If someone has told me that I would be lucky enough to get another happy, beautiful and sweet baby after David, I would have told them that the changes are low I get so lucky twice in a row. But here you are smiling and magical. I love you so much.

Advice from a Good Student and Your Mom

This was published as a guest post on back to school at the twopeas blog.

Journaling Reads:
David, you’re about to start school for the first time. As someone who’s spent a lot of time studying and loved it, I wanted to give you some advice.

1. Always listen to your teacher. Even if you don’t agree with what she says. You can then talk to mommy about it. But you must listen.

2. Pay attention. This is the most obvious but hardest to do thing. You have to always go to class and pay attention. If you do, you will do well.

3. Do your homework. You already know that learning is all about practice. That’s what homework is for. It helps you practice what you learned.

4. Ask questions Never be too shy or scared to admit you don’t understand. It’s ok to ask and it’s the only way you will learn something.

My sweet boy, this new journey in your life will be so much fun and the most important lesson I can teach you is to enjoy every single moment.

Since I am the family photographer, there are very few photos of me and you. So I asked Daddy to grab the camera and take one. You made this weird face so I decided to tickle you and he snapped right then. I love this. Imperfect but authentic photo so much.

Our Journey was Incomplete before You

Journaling Reads:
Little boy, there are no words to express the joy you’ve brought into our family. Until you came along our journey, our family was not complete. Now that you’re here, you’ve captured all of our hearts and our family feels complete. Like you were always meant to be here with us. We love you.

I Really Really Like to Cook Christmas Breakfast

Another long title, I like them. More CHA layouts for The Girls’ Paperie. This is using the new Tinsel and Twig line.

The journaling Reads:
Christmas is by far my favorite holiday and there are many things I love about it but my favorite part of the day is when I get up before everybody and set our table with the special Christmas dishes we have, some delicious fruit, and start to prepare our breakfast. In 2008, it was waffles and last year I made pancakes. Just seeing the dishes, the lights, and my family, makes me deeply happy.

Pumpkin Carving and How I learned to Tolerate Halloween

Another long title. More CHA layouts for The Girls’ Paperie. This is using the new Toil and Trouble line.

The journaling Reads:
Even after the eighteen years I’ve been in the United States Halloween is my least favorite holiday. I don’t like anything scary so I guess it’s no surprise I don’t like this holiday. But two years ago Jake bought a pumpkin carving kit for us and it quickly became a favorite of mine. And now I look forward to it every year. It’s the only thing I like about Halloween. At least there is one!

Unlike Your Mama You Embody the Halloween Spirit

Long title. More CHA layouts for The Girls’ Paperie. This is using the new Toil and Trouble line.

The journaling Reads:
Little boy, I am so glad that my dislike for Halloween has not affected you one little bit. You love it anyway and make sure to get into the spirit of it each year. My favorite was in 2008 when I bought you this dinosaur costume and even though you wanted to be batman you fully got into your costume and clawed and roared like a dinosaur. Seeing you makes me appreciate Halloween.

This is one of the biggest reasons I love taking so many pictures of you. I can never tell which one will be a milestone. Here’s a simple looking photo but as it turns out it was one of the last before you lost your tooth. I am so glad I have it. Captured forever. June 2010.

You Are Always Watching Your Brother

More CHA layouts for The Girls’ Paperie.

The journaling Reads:
You are always watching everything your big brother does. Observing, learning, and also laughing. As a younger sister myself, I am very familiar with the sense of awe older siblings bring to our lives. I love watching you watch him. You know what? So does he.
