No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Eh, tbh all of these mysteries blend into each other for me once i finish but I enjoy every single one of them. If you’re a mystery-liker, you will enjoy this one.

I am giving this a 3.5 rounded up only because the premise was so unusual. I liked the idea, didn’t love the characters or execution equally well but still enjoyed it.
I enjoy Jimenez’s books. I know what to expect and she always delivers. I enjoyed this one, too. I generally don’t remember the plot once I am done but I remember that these always make me feel like a cozy blanket.
The Hawthorne series is one of my favorites. I find Horowitz’s writing to be funny, engaging and clever and this one is no exception. I found the beginning of this story a bit slower to move and I had a hard time keeping track of all the neighbors at first. And it got more complicated before it started to unravel so I found the pacing to be a bit less engaging than the others in the series. But I loved the meta nature like in the others and I loved jumping in and out of the story. I also loved to find out a bit more about Hawthorne’s past which I assume will be more of a plot line in upcoming stories. As always, the ending and how it all comes together is very clever and so fast that I had to read it twice! I can’t wait for the next one! with gratitude to netgalley and Harper for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 stars. This was interesting, funny and clever but in the end it wasn’t as engaging to me as I had hoped. I think the audio was hard for me and i thought it was trying too hard. Maybe if I had read it I might have enjoyed it more.
3.5 stars. knew where this was going the whole time and still really enjoyed it.
Lovely, lovely YA read with really wonderful range of LGBTQ+ diverse characters. Loved it.
This was surprisingly good and insightful. I almost didn’t read it twice but wanted to give it a chance and I am glad I did. I think in this case the blurb doesn’t actually do justice to the book. It’s not as sensational as it might seem, instead it’s more clever and thought-provoking in my opinion.
Fast-paced interesting mystery that was a fun read. Could tell the twists but still kept me interested. Was what I needed.
Fast-paced interesting mystery that was a fun read. Not too twisty but still kept me interested. Was what I needed.
Weiner is always a steady read for me. I know what to expect and she delivers. I’ve been having such a hard time finding things to read that I wanted something I can count on and she delivered.
I went on a Coben journey after watching some of his Netflix movies. I think the books are good but I don’t seem to enjoy the narrator and I like these more as miniseries. They are still great for twisty stories if you enjoy those! |
