Weekly Diary – October 20 2012

This week was light on photos but still lovely. Here are some snapshots from our week:

This is Nathaniel sitting next to me while I work on the couch. He likes to go through my Android.

I hadn’t taken a nice shot of David in a long time.

And then here’s Nathaniel smirking because I told him I wanted a shot without him eating the cracker. He laughed and ate anyway.

we have a neighborhood tradition of being booed. We got it this week and then paid it forward.

David brought home another puppet. It’s called sunset.

finally a good shot of the little one.

We love LegoLand!

laughing at Nathaniel.

Nathaniel not playing along and David all excited.

and now vice versa. Nathaniel likes to go at his own pace.

which makes us laugh a lot.

and so does tickle time of course!

and here we go. i hope your week was lovely, too.

Weekly Diary – October 13 2012

Here are some snapshots from our week:

there was a pancake breakfast at the local firehouse.

david was making faces.

this is his sneaky face.

mischievous one.

and even more mischievous.

getting excited.

and there we go.

and then we got to visit the trucks.

the kids loved getting in them.

even though it was super sunny.

then david had swim class and then jake took them to home depot for the monthly kid project fun.

which was building fire trucks!

they built and painted.

and hugged.

Jake also bought them a huge set of card games and they’ve been wanting to play nonstop.

the light this week was terrible so our family shot is all blurry.

this is Nathaniel counting as in 1-2-3 go so we can say we love legoland.

two.

four.

five.

oh no! lost count.

and then tickle time!

and here we go. i hope your week was lovely, too.

Weekly Diary – October 6 2012

Here are some snapshots from our week:

We had a friend over last weekend with her two boys and all six of us painted.

It was really fun.

Here’s what my friend and her boys made.

Jake got the boys this unusual toy and they’ve been having a ton of fun with it.

school shut down this week for three days due to a burst pipe so the kids spent a lot of time playing with waterguns.

yey for California weather.

David got his first real snail mail from his grandmother.

and then it was family photo time.

as I tested the focus, the boys were horsing around so I yelled and I got these faces.

one nice one.

and laughter.

we yelled “we love gold bug!” Nathaniel yelled but not David.

and then David had one but not Nathaniel.

finally we got something they would both “love.”

Nathaniel was really into it and we couldn’t help laugh.

and then he got even more into it!

and we ended with tickle time, of course.

and here we go. i hope your week was lovely, too.

Weekly Diary – September 29 2012

Here are some snapshots from our week:

David in swimming class. I rarely get to go to class with him so I really enjoy being there when it’s my turn.

The boys bike each night now before bedtime. A bunch of neighborhood kids bike in the same alleyway and I love seeing them all.

David has gotten so much better on the scooter.

jake got these hats at a baseball game and the kids decided they were too much fun.

so i snapped some photos as they played.

and took turns.

and laughed.

and smiled at me.

the rest of the week was a blur besides our photo time!

there was more yelling “we love daddy!!” or santa cruz or legoland!

and then tickling.

and more tickling!!

and here we go. i hope your week was lovely, too.

Weekly Diary – September 22 2012

Very very few photos this week. Some weeks are just like that. Here are some snapshots from our week:

Nathaniel loves watching David play on the computer.

David’s math homework.

More puppets from school. This owl was extra-cool.

my little boy.

i know this is super-blurry, but i love it nonetheless.

and another puppet from school!!

nathaniel wasn’t in the mood to pose this week.

we did some “we love…” yelling

and some more!! he was into that.

he kept making funny faces.

the more I asked him to smile, the more he got excited and funny.

so of course I couldn’t stop myself from laughing.

even tickle time was extra crazy this week. but alas there was a lot of laughter and that makes me feel blessed.

and here we go. i hope your week was lovely, too.

Letters with Nathaniel – O

As I mentioned, I plan to keep this project simple and fun for both of us. So, I did the same thing with this letter as I did for letter A and all the others. I cut them all up and then, Nathaniel and I glued them down together to create this simple page:

Like each time, we talked about each of the words and then differentiated between capitals and lowercase. Then we colored all the letters.

Here he is gluing:

and coloring

Yey! Nathaniel is still loving this project!

Weekly Diary – September 15 2012

Here are some snapshots from our week:

Jake snapped these photos while I was out of town.

I love my boys so much.

i love looking at these pictures especially cause I wasn’t there.

they look like they’re conspiring.

some moments are just precious. even if they are captured blurry it’s worth it.

i am grateful for these moments.

nathaniel started school this week. this was the only shot he’d let me take.

david’s teacher lets the kids check out puppets each night. David loves them.

I didn’t have my camera on my birthday so Jake snapped these while they sang happy birthday to me.

david wanted to remove the candle.

this is what Nathaniel does at home while I work.

and sometimes he likes to pose for me.

i love those moments.

the boys weren’t so into taking photos this week.

But then Nathaniel suggested we yell “We love everybody!”

so we laughed a lot right away.

i got one nice shot.

and then it was funny faces that you up top and then David sang us his Friday song. Which ends with “I love Friday. Yey!!”

and then he hugged Nathaniel so I snapped and snapped.

we ended our shoot with tickle time of course.

and here we go. i hope your week was lovely, too.

Weekly Diary – September 8 2012

Here are some snapshots from our week:

Legos are a big part of our day. I am so grateful for them.

and now biking is too. nathaniel really loves riding his bike and david’s getting better at the scooter. I love watching them so much.

david started school this week. first day of second grade.

nathaniel was there, too (not so sure he wanted to pose).

david got to draw a picture and his name while he was waiting in the classroom and nathaniel was super-excited to watch.

right after we dropped david, we had nathaniel’s orientation since he’s starting david’s school this year, too. he then got to play in his playground for a while.

daddy was full into it.

and ran all around the track with Nathaniel.

David made some lego creation this week for a site. The topic was olympics so he chose swimming and did this amazing creation with people swimming and splashing.

i really loved it.

on jake’s birthday, i was working late into the day but I still tried to have a little cake and a candle for him.

not the best photos. but still a moment i wanted to capture.

then it was time for family photos.

yelling how much we love each other.

Nathaniel was in a funny mood and just wanted to be silly.

so we laughed a lot.

and then tickled and laughed more.

i got to have some shots with my boys this time, too.

i kept falling cause they were leaning on me.

which made us laugh in the end. love my boys.

and here we go. i hope your week was lovely, too.

Weekly Diary – September 1 2012

This week’s all about the few days we spent in Santa Cruz. Our short vacation was absolutely blissful. Here are some snapshots from our week:

Watching the seals.

and trying to smile at mommy at the same time.

the older one was more interested in the seals than mommy’s camera.

well they both loved them. so did i.

i still snapped a few of the boys while we were outside.

we went hiking together.

there was piggyback-riding.

which David loved.

the path had a little stream in the middle so we had to get creative.

Jake made sure the little one made it over easily as I snapped photos.

they just had a blast (even despite the whining).

we even found the awesome banana slug.

then we went to the boardwalk.

which both kids loved.

and then more hiking.

nathaniel ran from tree to tree to make sure he could find them in order.

there was bickering.

and mom-encouraged hugging to make up.

some resting and posing for photos.

a close up of the joy of my life.

especially when he smiles at me.

and the other joy, too, of course.

and next thing you know vacation was over and we were home taking family shots.

it was so nice and relaxing (until we came home and i mistakenly checked my work-email).

and we ended the week’s photos with tickle-time of course.

and here we go. i hope your week was lovely, too.
