When I saw the photo of these booties a long time ago (I don’t have the source of these particular ones, I am so sorry), I really wished I could make them but I also knew the chances were slim. I am not that proficient a knitter. I have only made scarves before. But this month, when I was making my list, I came upon them again and decided I would try to tackle them. Even as I was putting them on my list, I didn’t think the chances were high. But on they went.
With many many many thanks to YouTube and Google, I was able look up anything that stumped me (and there were several instances of that.) but I did manage to make a bootie.
and while it’s far from perfect and a bit super-sized, it’s here and done.
And there’s no way I’m making a second one 🙂
As it turns out, it wasn’t horribly difficult, just very. But I am a slow knitter so it took a long long time.
But I did it.
Very well done, Karen. It looks great. Put it away and maybe after you have knit more and have more practice it won’t seem so difficult.I have been knitting for many years and it comes easily. I have been struggling with learning how to crochet now for ever. I don’t know why I have such a hard time with it, but i just can’t seem to get the hang of it. I have the hardest time recognizing where the next stitch needs to go.
I really struggled with the crochet, too. i highly recommend those YouTube videos, it took me a few tries but I finally got the hang of it. I think it just takes a while and a bunch of practice. As with most things I spose.

I love these.I have been looking for a pattern like this for ages. They are so much daintier than a lot of the patterns that I have.
I agree just make the other one and then one day you might give them away as a gift to someone who will appreciate them.
i know aren’t they so sweet looking? Mine turned out too big really. I doubt any baby would be able to wear them.
Or don’t make a second one. Find a lucite box and put it on display. One of your achievements!
