Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan
One cannot go to Asakusa and not take a snapshot of the golden-doo building. I cannot even begin to fathom why someone thought putting a giant, gold doo on the roof of building would be pleasing to the eye. On our way back from the boat, I catch a glimpse of the side streets and adore the street lamps and the loud signs. Anne's trusty guidebook tells us that there is a special private garden in this temple. We walk back and try to get in but the guards tell us that the garden is closed and to come back another day. I went back to that spot twice more but was unable to get into this Eden-like garden. Bummer. |
